Uma Kuyang - The Orangutan's House
a film by Pierre Mann, 52'For three years, Pierre Mann explored the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. To enter the intimacy of the wild orangutan, the closest primate to man, he had to immerse himself in the vegetal exuberance of the last virgin forests.
The filmmaker's camera has to be even more discreet in order to catch the other strange creatures that live alongside the great red ape, such as gibbons, siamangs, binturongs or muntjacs. It also denounces the dizzying deforestation and animal trafficking and demonstrates the need to protect the last tropical forests.
